I’m seriously lucky to be surrounded by the most talented, driven and smart women in the wedding industry here in Sarasota. I absolutely love that I get to call them friends as well. Both Eri Vincent & Kelly Anne McGraw are hands down the most talented women who specialize in Wedding Hair & Make-up. They are both also very accomplished make-up artists for print, tv, movie… the list goes on. Eri was even featured in Total Divas this summer doing what she does best. So freaking cool!!
I was invited to join them both during their very first bridal show in St. Petersburg earlier this month to capture a few behind the scene images and take their models out for a quick fun shoot. We all had so much fun and their show was a huge success!!!
Thank you Eri & Kelly for inviting me to tag along… it was so much. I always love spending time with you both. Special thanks to the models as well… Emily, Lauren & Brittny. Gorgeous work and beautiful models.
I love Katie! Katie Aldrich is the owner of Blushing Brides Wedding Planning Services in Sarasota. When I first met, her I was really impressed with how knowledgeable, organized and confident she was. Very type A like me . . . that’s a plus. We hit it off the moment we met and I just had to work with her. Luckily she was up for a styled shoot to showcase some of her ideas for a vintage inspired outdoor wedding reception.
Krafty Katie (new nickname perhaps?) made the pennant herself! It was amazing in person and the quality was top notch. I absolutely adored and was obsessed with the escort card table.
I asked Katie what her thoughts were behind our shoot:
“I love vintage things that can be reinvented and made beautiful again. This photo shoot is all about bringing in vintage inspiration with homemade heirlooms passed down from generations. Maybe moms old suitcase or grandmas typewriter can be redesigned to make the wedding that much more special. I love creating things that are unique and personal to the couple which is what blushing brides is all about! Enjoy!”
Many thanks to Heavenly Cupcakes for the amazing Red Velvet and Carrot Cake cupcakes. They were just perfect and delicious!
So I’m pretending to plan a wedding through these inspiration boards. I’ve been married for 4 years now, but pinterest wasn’t around back then and things for a wedding just wasn’t as gorgeous as they are now.
I’m a huge fan of simple, delicate and elegant designs. I love lines (duh have you seen my website and blog design), symmetry and modern influences. I’ve seen this trend in wedding cakes as well. Gone are the days of columns and water streaming down the center. Now it’s all about clean lines, uncluttered designs and with sometimes a small surprise of color. I love it!
I want cake now!
